Question 1

What is Cat Zyon?

Accepted Answer

An urban pop art project with a social purpose. Through sculptures of the character Zyon, spread across cities around the world, we promote empathy, animal care and support for NGOs that protect street cats.

Question 2

Who created Cat Zyon?

Accepted Answer

Cat Zyon was created by visual artist Ramiro Silos, who brought together Pop Art, urban communication and social responsibility in a project of real impact. Sculptor Manoel Simon produces and materializes the three-meter sculptures.

Question 3

Is the project permanent?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cat Zyon is a continuous movement, always with new sculptures, campaigns and ways to positively impact urban space and the lives of animals.

Question 4

Does Cat Zyon support only cats?

Accepted Answer

Our main focus is cats living on the streets, but many partner NGOs also work with other animals.

Question 5

How do the sculptures and QR codes work?

Accepted Answer

Every sculpture has its own QR code leading to the Cat Zyon website, where visitors find information, solidarity products, local NGOs and ways to support the cause.

Question 6

Where does the money from sales go?

Accepted Answer

A large share of the net revenue is directed to partner animal protection NGOs, which carry out neutering, feeding, vaccination and adoption campaigns.

Question 7

Does Cat Zyon accept donations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Donations go to all registered NGOs, for rescues, veterinary treatment, food, shelter maintenance and awareness campaigns.

Question 8

I work for a city government and want to bring Zyon to my city. How?

Accepted Answer

Get in touch through the partnerships page. The city contributes public space and promotion; we handle the installation and the social programs with local NGOs.

Question 9

Can I nominate an NGO to join the project?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We always look for serious, local organizations. Send your suggestion through the contact form.

Question 10

Does Cat Zyon form partnerships?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you or your company want to collaborate, send a proposal through the contact form. We are open to projects that help promote the cause “Adopt a cat and save lives”.

Question 11

How can I volunteer?

Accepted Answer

Fill in the form on the site or contact us directly. There are several areas, from animal care to event support.

Question 12

How else can I help?

Accepted Answer

You can share the project, follow us on social media, nominate NGOs, join local actions or volunteer. Every bit of support makes a difference.

Question 13

Why is adopting better than buying?

Accepted Answer

Buying an animal feeds a trade that is often cruel and unregulated. The more people buy, the greater the demand for a market that treats lives as objects.

Question 14

Why does adoption matter?

Accepted Answer

Adopting saves a life and changes the reality of a cat or dog that might otherwise spend its whole life in a shelter waiting for a caring, responsible family.

Question 15

Not ready to adopt yet?

Accepted Answer

You can still help through donations, sponsorship or by offering a foster home, and by getting to know our partner NGOs.

Question 16

How do I report animal abuse?

Accepted Answer

We have no authority to investigate abuse, but your concern matters. In Brazil, report to DEPA (Delegacia Eletrônica de Proteção Animal), World Animal Protection Brasil or UIPA. Elsewhere, contact local animal protection organizations.
